What brought you to the sauna for the first time?

I was a regular customer at Solemar in Bad Dürrheim, visiting several times a week. I always needed to lose weight for my workout.

Why did you decide to get involved in sauna ceremonies, and how long have you been in this profession?

I met my then-girlfriend in the sauna. She works there. I wanted to try waving, and I really enjoyed it. So I started working part-time at Solemar. I've now been working as a sauna master for over six years. In 2023, I founded my own business, SpaSoul.

Where do you currently work, and what do you enjoy most about your job?

I currently work as a deputy team leader at the Badeparadies in Titisee, and I also work as a sauna master at the Solemar in Bad Dürrheim. I love what I do, and it's become my passion.

Do you visit the sauna in your free time, or is it just a work-related activity now?

I rarely go to a sauna as a guest anymore. Most of the time, I'm invited to do Sauna Aufguss.

What benefits does the sauna bring you? Is it just about health, or is there something more?

For me it's about more than just health.

What are you most proud of in your career? Do you have a moment you’ll remember forever?

That I took first place in the qualification for the German Aufguss Championship at my first championship. In the final, I won the title of Vice German Aufguss Champion 2024 and was allowed to represent Team Germany at the Aufguss World Championships. I also won the Vice German Freestyle Champion 2024 and represented Germany at the Freestyle World Championship playoffs – "Battle of Gladiators."

What is your favorite essential oil or fragrance combination that you like to use during ceremonies?

I love the peppermint, lime and black pepper.

Which ceremony do you enjoy performing the most, and why?

I love to do Aufgusses with music and emotions. You can unfold and the guests feel the emotions.

Do you have any unforgettable or quirky memories from the sauna that you’d like to share?

Each Aufguss ceremony creates unforgettable moments and it is nice to see the guests how emotionally touched they are by our work.

Do you plan to participate in any competitions or events in the near future? Which ones are your favorites?

I'd like to continue participating in the Show Aufguss Championships and represent Team Germany again at the World Championships. I'd also like to participate in the Freestyle Championships.

Is there anything you’d like to say to the readers about what personally inspires you about sauna rituals?

I want to create unforgettable moments with my infusion ceremony and give people a feeling of freedom, that they are happy and relaxed.
